Microsoft says their upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 will offer users a better Web browsing experience than Apple’s iPhone. Really … Well they have also added that the version which will debut this fall will allow you more access to Web sites.
Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices division was quoted, “You will have a very rich browsing experience on (Windows Mobile) 6.5 devices that will give you access to more Web sites than you will be able to get to on an iPhone that will work actively and work well. It really is a much better experience.”
At last check as far as I can see, Windows Mobile is trailing in the mobile applications market, and I don’t know how this Windows Mobile 6.5 will offer anything new. From what I heard, version 6.5 is just a temporary release as their Windows Mobile 7 is having problems in development, and is being delayed again.
Bach did admit Windows Mobile is struggling and added, “We have to do a better job executing and operating our business.”
I think many plenty people out there I know would rather opt if not the iPhone, for smartphones like Palm Pre, and BlackBerry, rather than Windows Mobile.
